( August 14, 2026, 06:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea unveiled Friday the final draft of its Artificial Intelligence Ethics Principles, which are set to be formally adopted under the AI Basic Act, which took effect in early 2026. The document will update the National Guidelines for AI Ethics, adopted in late 2020, to reflect changes in the global development and use of AI since then, including the spread of agentic AI and physical AI concepts, the Ministry of Science and ICT said. The new guidelines comprise principles covering the seven areas of human-centeredness, privacy protection, fairness and inclusiveness, accountability, safety, reliability and transparency. The government plans to adopt the final version by the end of August after receiving public comments, the ministry said.The statements are attached (in Korean)....
