Indonesia aligns digital-signature framework with international standards
( July 27, 2026, 04:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia is aligning its electronic certification and digital-signature framework with internationally recognized standards to improve cross-border recognition of digital-trust services, Deputy Communications and Digital Affairs Minister Nezar Patria said on Friday. Nezar said the government aims to ensure that electronic certificates issued under Indonesian law are legally and technically recognized by regional partners, supporting interoperability for cross-border electronic transactions. He added that the initiative builds on the country's Personal Data Protection Law and electronic-systems regulation as the foundation for digital-trust services. The ministry also said it is preparing regulations to address emerging technologies, including post-quantum cryptography, artificial intelligence-based identity verification and cloud-based digital-signature services.Statement follows (in Indonesian)....
