US senator queries Meta on whistleblower firings over youth online privacy

( July 22, 2026, 22:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has written to Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg with questions over whether the company improperly targeted whistleblowers who revealed practices around the targeting of vulnerable teen users for advertising. Grassley said he is also renewing his requests for answers to a 2025 request for answers to his questions about "Meta's deployment of harmful targeted ads to young and vulnerable users."Full statement follows.
