TikTok settles Fla. teen's social media addiction claims ahead of bellwether trial

The agreement, which follows a separate settlement with YouTube, leaves Meta and Snap to face trial July 27 over claims that their apps contributed to the boy's depression, anxiety, insomnia and other harms.As the second bellwether trial over the effects of social media on kids quickly approaches, another defendant has bowed out. TikTok is finalizing a settlement with a Florida teenager who claims to have become addicted to the apps at a young age, his lawyer confirmed on Monday....
