Hong Kong probes Shun Hing data breach affecting 920,000 customers

( July 3, 2026, 03:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Hong Kong's privacy regulator is investigating a data breach at local conglomerate Shun Hing Group that may have exposed personal information of more than 920,000 customers, including names, addresses and phone numbers. In a statement issued Thursday, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data said it received notification of the incident on March 23, and that personal data of about 1,000 employees and vendor staff may also have been compromised. In addition, data belonging to about 1.05 million people may have been maliciously encrypted, the statement noted.Statement follows....
