South Korea issues guidelines on responding to AI-related financial cyber threats

( July 2, 2026, 08:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s Financial Services Commission said Thursday that its Immunity Review Committee has approved immunity measures for IT outages arising during artificial-intelligence security testing and security patching. The regulator also said it has distributed guidelines outlining best practices for financial institutions to respond effectively to security threats posed by frontier AI models, such as Mythos. The guidelines, titled "Frontier AI Security Threat Response Guidelines for the Financial Sector," are intended to help financial institutions proactively address security threats posed by frontier AI models by strengthening their cybersecurity measures.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
