Indonesia says TikTok, YouTube disabled 4.7 million child accounts

In a statement Thursday, the ministry said TikTok had disabled 4.1 million accounts as of June, while YouTube had reported disabling about 600,000 accounts. The ministry also said about 200 digital platforms have submitted mandatory self-assessments under implementing Regulation No. 9 of 2026, with the government now evaluating each platform’s risk profile as part of a risk-based regulatory framework for children's online safety.Statement follows (in Indonesian) ...
