China maps out three-year push to integrate AI with telecom networks

( June 11, 2026, 09:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology unveiled a three-year plan on Wednesday to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence with telecommunications industry in a bid to upgrade digital infrastructure and support broader AI adoption. The blueprint calls for wider use of AI across 5G-Advanced and 6G networks, the development and optimized deployment of computing infrastructure and the promotion of AI agents and industry-specific models. Authorities aim to create more than 30 high-value AI application scenarios by 2028 and expand low-latency computing capacity to support AI training and deployment. The plan also calls for development of AI-powered network and data-security technologies to address cyber threats and data risks as well as stronger AI-enabled fraud-prevention capabilities, while advancing domestic standards and key communications technologies.
