( June 4, 2026, 04:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Philippines' National Privacy Commission is seeking comments on draft guidelines that would limit the collection, copying and retention of personal data when individuals claim statutory and special privileges, such as benefits for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, students and solo parents. The proposal generally bars organizations from photocopying IDs, retaining copies or using personal data for profiling and marketing unless required by law.
