China bars compliance with EU Nuctech probe, calls measures extraterritorial
( May 15, 2026, 14:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China said an investigation by the Justice Ministry, Commerce Ministry and other agencies found that the EU's use of its Foreign Subsidies Regulation in a probe into Chinese security scanner company Nuctech involved cross-border investigative practices targeting Chinese entities. Beijing said those actions constituted an “improper extraterritorial jurisdiction measure” under China’s anti-foreign extraterritoriality rules. It added that no organization or individual may comply with or assist in implementing the EU measures related to the case.
