Meta files reply in support of dismissing US claims over third-party data
( May 1, 2026, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platforms filed a reply in support of its motion to dismiss a third amended US complaint accusing it of illegally accessing geolocation data shared with it through its software development kits by third-party apps, saying that the complaint includes no new factual allegations sufficient to cure the deficiencies the court previously identified. Meta said that as to the California Comprehensive Computer Data Access and Fraud Act claim, plaintiffs double down on their theory that Meta “knew” it lacked permission to access their computers or data because Meta did not “ensure” that app developers obtained users’ consent, but failing to confirm a fact does not show knowledge of that fact.See attached file....
