Online platforms, AI providers face tighter UK duties as crime bill becomes law

Under the final text of the Crime and Policing Act, companies must remove non-consensual intimate images within 48 hours of notification and prevent their re-upload, while AI chatbots are set to be brought into scope of illegal content rules under the act. The law also criminalizes “nudification” tools and exposes the executives of tech companies to new liability risks.Statement follows....
