Roblox enters 'historic' child safety, health settlement with Nevada

By Mike Swift ( April 15, 2026, 23:58 GMT | Insight) -- Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford announced a settlement Wednesday with Roblox that would limit platform notifications to minors and add new parental controls for minors on the platform, and also would pay $12.5 million to the state for education and to establish a law enforcement liaison position for platform safety issues. Ford said the settlement is the first of its kind against a digital platform and should be "a signal" to Meta Platforms, Snap and TikTok, which the state has previously sued, that they need to make similar changes to protect young users from addiction.Roblox has reached a $12.5 million settlement with Nevada’s attorney general that limits notifications sent to minors and reduces young users’ ability to chat with strangers on the platform — a deal Attorney General Aaron Ford said should be a model for other social media and gaming companies....
