Children’s online privacy risks prompt UK data protection campaign for parents

( April 7, 2026, 12:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: New research on children’s online privacy has prompted the UK data protection regulator to launch a campaign Tuesday warning of risks and encouraging parents to talk to children about the topic. The Information Commissioner’s Office said it will continue holding tech companies accountable for protecting children’s data under its existing privacy framework. It urged parents of those aged four to 11 to explain online privacy concerns to children and to help them configure platform or device settings to safeguard personal data.Statement follows....
