Baedal Minjok reports data misuse in South Korea tied to outsourced customer service

( March 31, 2026, 07:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Woowa Brothers, operator of delivery app Baedal Minjok, has reported an incident of customer data misuse to South Korea’s privacy regulator after discovering that a member of a criminal group had gained employment at an outsourced customer-service provider and misused customer information. The company said it made a preemptive notification to the Personal Information Protection Commission once the misuse was confirmed through a police investigation, and is notifying customers whose information may have been viewed while cooperating with authorities. It also said it is conducting a full audit of the contractor involved and proceeding with steps to terminate the contract.
