Australian draft children's privacy code outlines rules for online games, services

In a statement announcing the release of an exposure draft of the Children’s Online Privacy Code on Tuesday, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner said that some of the key provisions include obtaining consent before using children’s personal information for targeted advertising and to enable them to request deletion of their personal information.Apps, online games and websites would face new obligations including notifying children when parents consent to data collection on their behalf and when their location is being tracked by other users, according to Australia’s draft children’s privacy code....
