( March 24, 2026, 10:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Online platforms will need to prioritize assessing the risks of unsolicited nude images and illegal self-harm content on their services under draft codes published by UK regulator Ofcom this morning. The rules seek to implement cyberflashing and self-harm priority offenses added to the Online Safety Act by the UK government in December 2025. Ofcom's updates to the Illegal Content Codes of Practice are being consulted on until Apr. 24, and the watchdog expects to publish its final decision in summer 2026.Statement follows.
