Coupang admits 200,000 Taiwan-based accounts affected by recent data incident

( February 25, 2026, 04:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Some 200,000 Taiwan-based Coupang accounts were affected by a data incident disclosed in November, the company said in a statement on Wednesday. The affected information included users’ names, email addresses, phone numbers, delivery addresses and order histories, but did not involve payment-card details, passwords or government-issued IDs, according to the company. The company said that a former employee only retained one Taiwanese-based account, along with some 3,000 user accounts in South Korea, and the company has worked closely with the Taiwan’s Ministry of Digital Affairs throughout the investigation.
