Google, plaintiffs agree to $68 million settlement over Google Assistant recordings

( January 25, 2026, 02:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google and class-action plaintiffs have agreed to a $68 million settlement of six-year-old litigation over the alleged recording of consumers' voices by Google's voice assistant. "The Settlement, if approved, will resolve claims relating to Google’s alleged recording of individuals’ communications using Google Assistant and Google Assistant Enabled Devices without their consent and the use and disclosure of communications to third parties," the plaintiffs said in asking a federal judge in San Jose, California, to provide preliminary settlement approval.See attached document....
