Curenergía fined €500,000 for GDPR breach, Spanish data watchdog says

( January 12, 2026, 13:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The utilities company Curenergía has to pay a fine of €500,000 for breaching the EU’s data protection rules, the Spanish Data Protection Agency said on Monday. A customer received emails intended for another customer including personal data. Thus, the company failed to adhere to the rules for data protection by design and default, the Spanish data watchdog said.
