Meta gets quick appeal in Facebook users’ US case over scammers

( January 8, 2026, 17:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platforms has been granted leave to immediately appeal an order that maintained a US case accusing it of helping scammers defraud users with deceptive advertising. “The court finds that securing appellate clarity on interlocutory appeal is in the interests of the parties and this court. In the long run, an appeal of these threshold issues will materially speed the end of this litigation and perhaps aid in similar litigation over Meta’s [terms of service] and community standards,” District Judge Jeffrey S.
