Change Healthcare data breach claims narrowed, not eliminated, by US judge

( December 19, 2025, 20:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A Minnesota federal judge has narrowed, but not eliminated, claims against Change Healthcare over ransomware attack in 2024. US District Judge Donovan Frank granted the healthcare company's motion to dismiss third-party beneficiary breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and declaratory judgment allegations brought by individual plaintiffs, but ruled that they have sufficiently alleged negligence, negligence per se, violation of the Minnesota Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and violation of the Minnesota Health Records Act. Frank also narrowed some claims against Change brought by healthcare providers who say they were harmed by the cyberattack, but he allowed claims of negligence per se and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing under Minnesota law to move forward.See attached documents....
