EU judges' review of Belgian bank data transfer case is welcome, watchdog says

( December 5, 2025, 09:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Belgian Data Protection authority said it welcomed that a Brussels court has submitted "important questions that have a European dimension" to the EU Court of Justice regarding a US data-transfer case involving banks. Belgian judges decided to send 13 questions to the EU court for clarification on whether the data transfers under the US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, or FATCA, breach provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation on data transfers outside the EU.Press release follow....
