China proposes broader police cybersecurity checks in draft revamp

( December 2, 2025, 09:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s Ministry of Public Security has issued draft measures to revamp procedures for police-led cybersecurity supervision and inspections, updating 2018 regulations. The revision would expand oversight beyond network operators to include data processors and personal-information handlers. It would also add reviews of data security, personal-information protection and algorithmic-recommendation systems in addition to cybersecurity.
