China urges tougher online enforcement to curb corporate-related infringements

( November 27, 2025, 06:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s top internet regulator convened officials on Wednesday to push for tighter oversight of online content affecting companies, urging local authorities to step up enforcement against corporate-related infringements and strengthen guidance. As part of efforts to optimize the online business environment, the Cyberspace Administration of China, or CAC, told regional bureaus to remove unlawful posts, improve policy communication and publicize typical cases. It also directed platforms to sharpen detection of harmful content, tighten management of financial “self-media” and MCN accounts, refine standards for handling offending users and improve complaint-handling and workflow transparency.
