Dyson, Fujifilm apps among 71 flagged for personal-data rights infringement in China

( November 27, 2025, 02:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Apps run by British appliance maker Dyson, auto joint venture SAIC-GM and European car giant Stellantis, along with those by Dutch health-technology company Philips, Japan's photo and printing giant Fujifilm and paint company Nippon Paint, are among 71 flagged by the Shanghai Communications Administration for allegedly infringing users’ personal data rights. The apps were found to have illegally collected personal information, mishandled user complaints or blocked account deletion. Other alleged issues include illegal use of personal data, failure to explicitly disclose data processing rules, or repeatedly or compulsorily requesting data access. The apps must correct these issues, comprehensively assess their data-protection measures and submit written correction and self-assessment reports to authorities within five working days, or face potential enforcement, the regulator said.
