US DOJ asks court to continue abeyance in TikTok suit against CFIUS

( November 21, 2025, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice asked a federal appeals court to hold TikTok's lawsuit against the US Committee on Foreign Investment in the US (CFIUS) in abeyance for another 60 days so the issues can be resolved. It's next status report would be due by Jan. 20, 2026. The DOJ told the court that US President Donald Trump issued an executive order explaining that a plan has been presented for a qualified divestiture of TikTok’s US operations. The order also contemplates that CFIUS will enter into an agreement with investors to mitigate the threatened impairment to the national security described in the divestment order at issue in the lawsuit. See file attachment. ...
