UK regulator Ofcom criticized over approach to online suicide forum

( November 6, 2025, 18:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK regulator Ofcom has been criticized by a well-known suicide prevention organization and a group of bereaved families for not taking tougher action against an online pro-suicide forum. In a statement that does not name the forum, the Molly Rose Foundation called on Ofcom to block the site and carry out an online safety law investigation. Ofcom said in October that it continued to monitor the forum after it responded to its enforcement proceedings by implementing a geoblock to restrict access by people with UK IP addresses and removed messaging on how UK users could circumvent the block.Statement follows.
