Singapore's PDPC fines Marina Bay Sands over major data breach

( October 29, 2025, 01:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission has fined Marina Bay Sands S$315,000 (about. $243,120) for failing to protect the personal data of over 665,000 patrons, in violation of the Protection Obligation under the Personal Data Protection Act. The breach occurred after a software migration error in March 2023 left data exposed via an unprotected API for six months, allowing threat actors to access and exfiltrate patron information later sold on the dark web. The PDPC cited MBS for negligent contravention of the Protection Obligation.
