Singapore's PDPC fines Marina Bay Sands over major data breach

The breach occurred after a software migration error in March 2023 left data exposed via an unprotected API for six months, allowing threat actors to access and exfiltrate patron information later sold on the dark web. The PDPC cited MBS for negligent contravention of the Protection Obligation.
