SK Shieldus under privacy probe in South Korea after reporting employee email breach

( October 23, 2025, 09:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: SK Shieldus, a major security company, has come under investigation by South Korea’s privacy regulator following a late-night breach report filed on Wednesday. The Personal Information Protection Commission said on Thursday it moved to a formal probe after receiving the report, having previously verified media claims that SK Shieldus work files were posted on the dark web. According to the company’s filing, a hacker accessed an employee’s personal email and exfiltrated work documents containing names, phone numbers and email addresses of SK Shieldus and client-company staff.
