UK charities can soon email supporters without prior consent, ICO says

A consultation has outlined how the “charitable purpose soft opt-in,” created by the Data (Use and Access) Act, will amend privacy regulations to let charities contact people who have shown interest or offered support in the past, provided opt-outs are offered.
