French privacy watchdog issued €108,000 in fines for data violations since May

( October 13, 2025, 09:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: France's CNIL data protection authority has issued a total of €108,000 in fines since May against 16 companies under its simplified procedure, mainly for violations of data protection rules on video surveillance. The penalties were also imposed for commercial prospecting practices carried out without users’ consent, as well as failures to cooperate following requests under the GDPR, the watchdog said in a statement on Monday.
