Challengers to US FCC data-breach notification rules ask court to revisit case

( September 29, 2025, 20:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Ohio Telecom Association, Texas Association of Business, Wireless Association, Internet & Television Association and Broadband Association asked a US appeal court to rehear their challenge to the Federal Communication Commission’s updated data-breach notification rules for telecommunications carriers. “As Judge Griffin warned in dissent, the panel’s ruling hands administrative agencies a ready-made playbook for “circumvent[ing] the [Congressional Review Act]”: Just reissue disapproved rules piecemeal or in marginally tweaked form, and Congress’s disapproval counts for nothing,” they said.
