Slaughter argues US Supreme Court should follow lower courts in dropping stay

( September 15, 2025, 20:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Lawyers for US Federal Trade Commission member Rebecca Slaughter told the US Supreme Court that it should follow the lead of federal district and appeals courts in denying a stay of a district court decision reinstating Slaughter to the FTC pending the outcome of the Trump administration's appeal. "Where, as here, the district and circuit courts have both denied a stay, a party seeking relief in this Court bears an 'especially heavy' burden of persuasion," Slaughter said in a filing to the Supreme Court.
