China's top legislature to review cybersecurity law amendment in September

( August 26, 2025, 08:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee will review a proposed amendment from its chairpersons’ council to the Cybersecurity Law at its 17th session, scheduled for Sept. 8–12, state media Xinhua reported. The agenda was decided at the committee’s 48th chairpersons’ meeting today in Beijing, chaired by Zhao Leji. Two earlier drafts of the amendment were released for public comment in 2022 and 2025.
