German data protection authority takes Facebook Fan Page dispute to higher court

( August 22, 2025, 13:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Germany’s federal data protection authority, the BfDI, has appealed the Cologne administrative court’s July ruling in the Facebook Fan Page case, sending the dispute to the higher administrative court in the city of Münster. Data protection commissioner Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider said the goal is to end legal uncertainty for public bodies and enable secure digital communication with citizens.
