X Corp. seeks rehearing in appeal of US case over sex-trafficking

( August 15, 2025, 20:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: X Corp. asked a US appeals court to rehear a case bringing negligence and product liability claims against it based on defective reporting-infrastructure design, saying that the panel’s opinion reinvents two narrow aspects of the complaint. “Beyond contravening plaintiffs' own allegations, the panel invites other plaintiffs to plead around Section 230 immunity: rather than allege that a website failed to review or remove third-party content, the same plaintiff complaining of the same injury can allege that the website lacked adequate 'reporting infrastructure' for detecting and flagging the offending content,” X said.
