US Supreme Court declines to reinstate block on Mississippi age-gating law

( August 14, 2025, 19:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Supreme Court has denied NetChoice's emergency petition to reinstate a preliminary injunction against Mississippi's age-gating law after an appeals court stayed the injunction pending the state's appeal. "To be clear, NetChoice has, in my view, demonstrated that it is likely to succeed on the merits—namely, that enforcement of the Mississippi law would likely violate its members’ First Amendment rights under this Court’s precedents," Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote in a brief concurrence with the court.  But he said that NetChoice "has not sufficiently demonstrated that the balance of harms and equities favors it at this time."See attached document....
