Thailand releases draft cybersecurity law amendments for public consultation

The draft expands regulatory oversight to include cloud and data center providers storing information for critical information infrastructure entities, while broadening the scope of critical information infrastructure coverage. It also clarifies the distinction between “cyber threats” and “cyber incidents” and updates the definition of “cybersecurity.” The draft introduces a tiered incident classification system with stricter reporting timelines and strengthens NCSA powers, including the regulator's ability to set minimum technical standards for systems, services and cybersecurity products used by public and private entities.The draft law and the table comparing the current law to the amended draft are attached....
