Plaintiffs seek quick appeal in US Google Chrome privacy case

( July 14, 2025, 20:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs suing Google over whether it allowed Chrome users to give meaningful consent for the collection of their data when they weren't logged into a Google account asked a US federal judge to allow them to immediately appeal an order that denied class certification. “While these rulings were made in the context of a class certification analysis, they fundamentally impact expert discovery and trial even for the individual claims of the six named plaintiffs. Any post-trial appeals, if successful, would require not only restarting trial, but also expert discovery.
