Australian privacy watchdog weighing use of enforcement tools, regulator says

In a webinar today, Australian Privacy Commissioner Carly Kind said that when the first tranche of changes to the 1988 Privacy Act was passed in November last year, it established an “authorizing environment” in which the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner could also be a more enforcement-focused regulator.
