Google, TikTok must face US claims over content moderation, plaintiffs say

( June 2, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plaintiffs bringing US claims against Google and TikTok over the adequacy of reporting processes on their social media platforms opposed a motion to dismiss, arguing that while Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act immunizes companies from claims that seek to hold them responsible for content moderation, or lack thereof, it does not protect companies from accountability when they break their own promises. Plaintiffs said that based on what type of content the companies deem violative of their own policies and guidelines, they developed a reporting tool that was stated to review and remove the harmful videos plaintiffs reported per their policies and guidelines.See attached file. ...
