NSO seeks new US trial against WhatsApp, calling jury damages award 'outrageous'

( May 30, 2025, 01:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US jury's punitive damages award of nearly $168 million against NSO Group Technologies over its "Pegasus" spyware exceeded compensatory damages by 376 times, an "outrageous punitive award" that requires a new trial, NSO told a US judge in California. NSO said "the jury’s award is unlawful because it reflects the improper desire to bankrupt NSO out of general hostility toward its business activities other than the limited conduct for which punitive damages could be awarded in this case."See attached document....
