SK Telecom's compromised servers under close review by privacy regulator

( May 20, 2025, 02:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s privacy regulator is closely examining the compromised servers of SK Telecom as part of its independent investigation to determine the scope of a personal-data breach and assess the extent of the resulting damage, according to the Personal Information Protection Commission. The PIPC is reviewing a total of 18 servers, including two known as the Integrated Customer Authentication System, which store users’ personal information such as names, birthdates, mobile phone numbers, email and home addresses, as well as unique identifiers attached to mobile phones.
