M&S customer data stolen in cyberattack; draws UK privacy watchdog scrutiny

By Patricia Figueiredo ( May 13, 2025, 10:27 GMT | Insight) -- UK retailer Marks & Spencer confirmed today that customer data was stolen by hackers in a cyberattack that has been affecting the company's operations since Easter. While no payment details or passwords were stolen, customers will be prompted to reset their passwords, the company said. The Information Commissioner’s Office said it has received M&S's reports and that it's currently making inquiries.
