US government opposes injunction against DOGE data collection

( April 29, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Federal workers unions and nonprofits have failed to demonstrate a likelihood of irreparable harm from the data collection activities by the Department of Governmental Efficiency in two US agencies in order to justify a preliminary injunction, according to the US government. It argued that the preliminary injunction motion does not contend that there is a serious risk that personal information will be publicly disclosed or otherwise more broadly disseminated. “Rather, Plaintiffs’ assertions of irreparable harm amount to an argument that DOGE access itself qualifies as irreparable harm. But it does not, as two Judges in this District have concluded in denying similar motions for preliminary relief in DOGE access cases."See attached file. ...
