Meta must face amended US claims over scammers, Facebook users argue

( April 21, 2025, 21:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Facebook users filed an opposition to Facebook’s motion to dismiss their claims accusing the social network of helping scammers defraud users with deceptive advertising, saying their amended complaint is sufficient. “Despite the clear language stating that Meta will take action in response to misconduct, Meta contends that the [terms of service] and [community standards] provisions above do not create obligations. A court in this district, however, recently identified the appropriate action provision as one of several provisions in Meta’s contract creating an enforceable promise,” they said.
