Facebook, US states get 6 more months on Cambridge Analytica settlement

By Mike Swift ( March 10, 2025, 18:54 GMT | Insight) -- Lawyers for Facebook and the state of Illinois told a judge in Chicago today said they are close to reaching a settlement deal in a multistate investigation of the Cambridge Analytica breach, which blew up seven years ago next week. “We are almost there on many of the terms; there’s really just one major remaining term,” a lawyer in the Office of the Illinois Attorney General told a judge in Cook County, Illinois. Facebook and a group of states led by Illinois told a state court judge in Chicago today that they are close to a settlement resolving the states’ allegations over the Cambridge Analytica privacy breach, as the privacy scandal’s seventh anniversary approaches next week....
