X told to provide election data by German court under EU's Digital Services Act

( February 8, 2025, 12:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Elon Musk's X, platform formerly known as Twitter, has been ordered by a German court to provide election data to researchers after they sued the platform to secure access to social media data to probe possible election interference. A Berlin Regional Court ruled in favor of lawsuits filed by Germany’s Democracy Reporting International and the Society for Civil Rights or Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte. The groups said X must provide the data under the EU’s Digital Services Act, which compels platforms to provide researchers with public data.Press release is below and the ruling is attached....
