Signature of EU-Brazil personal-data agreement set for 2025, Brunner says

( January 16, 2025, 11:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Negotiations for an agreement between Europol and Brazil to allow for the exchange of personal data in the fight against serious crime and terrorism were finalized at technical level on Oct. 18, 2024, EU Commissioner Magnus Brunner said today. Signature of this agreement is foreseen for this year, he said responding to a question from Spanish conservative Francisco José Millán Mon. While the EU regulator is in close contact with Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru to continue and conclude negotiations as soon as possible, negotiations with Mexico haven't started yet, Brunner said.   The response and the question follow. ...
